Description and Additional Information:

Finn’s Story Hi, I am Finn. I was found wandering around lost and hungry. I ate what I could find and drank water from creeks and mud puddles. I decided to look for help and went into an elderly woman’s yard. She gave me some food and fresh water. I was so happy. But then a truck came and they loaded me in the back. I was put in a chain link cage with a roof. I was so sad but at least I had regular meals and water. That didn't last too long, now I have a wonderful foster home in Georgia! From his foster parents: When we picked up “Finn” he was very thin and scared. He did not know what was happening. His fur was very course and falling out. It appeared that he had never been in a car, on a leash or had a treat (we tried to give him some). It was an hour and a half drive home, after about 30 he started to warm up and lick our hands. As you can see Finn had a very rough start. He has come out of his shell and is now a Velcro dog. He wants nothing but to please. He is not food motivated although he does like getting treats when the other dogs get them. He is very attention motivated. He will do anything to get praise and a pet. When scolded he still will seek a “safe place”. He went to vet and was treated for the things that he picked up while on his own. He was neutered and got all of the necessary shots and tests. We were told he was 2 years old but the vet thinks maybe 1. Finn has gained weight and has filled out to a healthy size. His coat is now soft and shiny. He is now good with walking on a leash and loves going to the store (Tractor Supply) and bark park. He gets along well with our dogs (bloodhound, Irish setter and mini dachshund). He has not been around cats. He has figured out soft food and loves it. Finn loves learning what it means to be and inside dog. He loves getting attention playing with his doggie buddies. He will make a great pet for someone who wants a constant companion with a playful personality. If you are interested in adopting Finn or another OESR dog, you must complete the application process at www.oesr.org. We will not be able to answer your questions about this dog until he has been assessed at which time the information will be available here or on our website. All adoptive homes must have a fenced yard or other type of containment or boundaries for the dog. Vet and personal reference checks as well as a home visit will be conducted prior to final adoption approval for all OESR dogs. Adoption fee is $395.00 for unaltered pups with $25.00 rebate for proof of spay/neuter and $25.00 rebate for proof of microchip
